The next step is the creation of an integrated portfolio for graphic designers, according to the chief executive of graphic design and digital media firm Artix, who spoke to The Jerusalem Times on condition of anonymity.
This is one of the key reasons why the business of graphic designs has been on a downward trend since the beginning of the decade, he said.
In the past, designers have spent hours of their day and evenings on each of their designs, he explained.
With digital services and digital tools, designers can now work more leisurely and at their desks.
Artix is one the largest firms in the country, but its CEO, Dr. Yoav Pash, told The Jerusalem Newz that the company is also on the verge of an important shift.
He said he is confident that by 2020, the market for graphic designer services will reach the $100 billion mark, with an estimated 10% of the market.
Pash said the company has launched a program in the past three years to attract a more diverse group of talent.
He said that in 2017, the company attracted 50% of its revenue from women.
Pash said that the graphic design market is currently in a good state, and that the next steps are to continue to diversify the portfolios and build new business models.
“The market for design services has grown and will grow even more as technology and the internet have become more prevalent,” he said, referring to the growth of the web and social media.
Posh said the current trend is to use less graphic design for advertising, branding and digital advertising, instead focusing on branding and social-media marketing.
This trend has been supported by the market share gains of digital ad companies such as JWT and Facebook.
He added that the market is growing and that in the next three to five years, there will be an increase in the number of designers in the market who will focus on graphic design.
Artx’s Chief Executive, Yoav Peretz, said that he believes that the growth in the graphic designer market is also driven by the rise of digital advertising.
He noted that there are a lot of brands that are using digital platforms, such as Pinterest and Instagram.
“We’re seeing more people becoming interested in graphic design, and this trend will continue,” he predicted.
The rise of social media and the increasing popularity of the social-advertising platforms have been contributing to the increase in popularity of graphic designers.
He explained that, during the past few years, the growth and popularity of digital products has been increasing.
“When you see that there’s a lot more of these social-marketing products that are becoming more and more popular, that’s the trend that we’re seeing,” he added.
Posh said that there is an opportunity for graphic designs to be recognized for their innovative and professional qualities.
“We have a lot to offer,” he stressed.
“But we are also the ones who have to do it,” he emphasized.
