Paul Rand has become a lightning rod for criticism from the right, and for many Republicans, he's the poster child for what they see as a betrayal of the conservative movement. But Rand's latest comments on gun violence and the media's handling of the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., have brought new attention to the senator's position on the issue. On Thursday, Rand told ABC's "This Week...
A designer who uses digital design to help her team better communicate their work has turned her skills into a full-time job.
Nicola D’Agostino, a graphic designer who has worked for adobe for the past four years, started her own digital agency in 2011.
Her design work has become more than a career, she says.
“I’m now a full time designer, and I’m making a living off of it,” she said.
“It’s been a fantastic experience for me and I can’t wait to see where the future takes me.”
D’Agos work is part of a larger shift in the way designers work online.
“We’re moving away from the traditional design elements that we’ve always used,” she says, “which is the ‘sketch’, the grid, the outline, the lines, the colours, the fonts, and all the rest of it.”
Designing on a computer has changed a lot, says D’Aguostino.
“A lot of our clients are very graphic designers, and so I think that is something that we all need to understand,” she explains.
“Because if you’re not, then you’re just like everyone else and that’s not cool.”
The way she’s designed her work, she hopes it will encourage others to design on a laptop or tablet.
“If you can do it digitally, it can really help you understand the creative process,” she encourages.
“And if you can’t do it physically, then it’s a lot more important.”
Just make it easy for yourself.
