The Washington Institute of Politics Graphic Design Salary Guide offers graphic design jobs for U.D. residents with degrees in graphic design.
Graphic Designers earn an average of $58,200 per year, according to the survey.
The institute’s report, based on federal government data, ranked graphic design as the seventh most valuable job in the country.
It ranks third for its “cost-effectiveness,” with a median annual salary of $62,500.
Graphic design is not only a high-paying field, but it’s also an increasingly important one for the U to attract.
“If you are the kind of person who likes to think big and create things, graphic design is an awesome way to do it,” said Stephen M. Fong, a Washington-based design consultant who founded the firm Fong Associates.
“It is not the end of the world if you want to make money as a graphic designer.
If you have a really good portfolio, it will pay off.”
What to look for in a graphic designers job The Washington institute’s salary report lists a few of the most popular fields in graphic designing.
Graphic designers make more than just graphic design, though.
They work on graphic design-related content for media, advertising, and other businesses.
And, graphic designers also do business development and public relations, as well as marketing.
Here are the most common graphic design positions: Graphic designer — An experienced graphic designer who specializes in a particular area.
They’re paid on average $65,400 per year.
Graphic designer with a bachelor’s degree or more — An engineer, computer programmer, or computer-based graphic designer with an average bachelor’s-degree degree.
Graphic artist — A graphic designer or graphic designer in the creative field.
They earn an estimated average of nearly $72,100 per year as part of their salary.
Graphic writer — An artist who specializes specifically in a specific field.
Graphic editors — A writer who works with the design team or a designer who works on a specific project.
They make an average annual salary between $68,400 and $72.600, depending on the company.
Graphic architect — A design or development specialist who helps companies create products.
They average between $65 and $90,000 a year, depending in the project.
Graphic illustrator — An illustrator who helps design the look of websites or magazines.
They can be paid as little as $50,000, but typically average $110,000.
Graphic typographer — An artistic typographer who designs the looks of digital publications or magazines such as a newspaper or magazine.
They typically earn between $60,000 and $100,000 annually, depending.
Graphic editor — An editorial type designer who creates graphic design for newspapers, magazines, and online publications.
They tend to make $100 to $200,000 per year depending on their project.
This graphic design position includes graphic design on newsprint, a type of newspaper.
Graphic storyteller — An author who works closely with storytellers and other storyteens to craft stories.
They usually earn between an average $60 and $130,000 annual.
Graphic editorialist — An editor who oversees a team of graphic designers, copywriters, and editors.
They’ll earn between around $80,000 to $100 million annually.
Graphic director — An independent graphic designer responsible for a project or project that includes a design, design-to-print, or other creative work.
They also usually make around $90 million.
Graphic graphic design student — An aspiring graphic designer, who typically makes between $50 to $70,000 an year.
It includes creating digital content for websites and blogs, producing print content, and working with clients to develop their portfolio.
This type of job is typically a part-time job, but could be full-time if the student works as a full-timer.
Graphic development — A freelance graphic design job for graphic design firms.
This is the type of graphic design that is typically not an entry-level graphic design gig, but is a high paying one.
This could include creating graphic design work for publications such as The New York Times and BuzzFeed.
Graphic Designer with a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher — An engineering, computer-programming, or graphic design major.
They earned an average salary of about $70 million a year between 2015 and 2018.
Graphic Graphic designer, designer, or designer — A full- time designer, graphic designer/designer, or design- to-print job for a media company.
